Shapiro, age 98, of Northbrook, respected optometrist and jeweler; beloved husband for 73 years of the late Dorothy; loving father of Dr. Philip (Sharon Whitney) Shapiro and the late Suzanne Shapiro Anderson; adored grandpa of David Whitney and Jon (Siobhan) Whitney; proud great grandfather of Taylor, Michael, Collin, Kiley, and Bec; cherished brother of the late Bernard (late Esther) Shapiro, late Edith (late Ernie) Shanok, and the late Rita (late Abe) Cohen; treasured uncle and friend of many.
