Leon “Lee” Bookman, age 91, of Northbrook, IL and Palm Desert, CA; Lee joined Heads & Threads Company in 1959, was appointed to the position of President in 1967 and later under Alleghany Corporation became CEO of Heads & Threads International LLC and ultimately Chairman; served honorably in the Navy during WWII; beloved husband for 56 years of Carole, nee Tatkin; loving father of Marc (Toshiko) Bookman, Jodi (Michael) Berger and Susan Bookman; adored grandpa of Jeffrey, Natalie and Alec Berger, Hana, Kensuke (Yuki), and Mayuna (Hiroshi) Bookman; proud great grandfather of Kai and Maho; devoted son of the late Jack and Nettie Bookman; cherished brother of the late Sophie (late Irvin) Jacobs and the late Frieda (late David) Potash; dear brother-in-law of Larry (Marlene) Tatkin; treasured uncle and friend to many. Lee left an indelible mark on the countless lives each touched so profoundly. Service Monday, 10:00 a.m. at The Chapel, 195 N. Buffalo Grove Rd., Buffalo Grove (1 blk N. of Lake Cook Rd.).
