The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Michael Sokolik can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Condolence: I grew up with the Sokolik family, who lived just a block over from us in Fort Madison during our childhood years. As adults we moved on, but I had the pleasure of getting reacquainted with Mike when he returned to Fort Madison for music and poetry at the Hillside. Such a gentle and caring soul. My sympathy to all his family and friends.

Condolence: My deepest sympathy to Michael's family. We both worked for SSA. I met Mike a number of years ago when he came to work in the Chicago Regional Office. I have a lot of family in Iowa. Whenever I had a question about Iowa (people, politics, farming, etc) I asked Mike. Thank you Mike. Blessings to all.

Condolence: I remember the first time I met Mike. I was a young employee troubled with the inequities of being employed at a large organization. Mike smiled and gave me great advice that helped me immensely throughout my career. I am very thankful to have known Mike at different times throughout my career. Mike made a difference in what he did and the people he met. We are so sorry for your loss.
