Esther Lee Peven, nee Slavick, age 90, of Skokie, formerly of Lincolnwood; lifelong teacher, mentor and volunteer who loved to learn. Esther made a difference in so many lives she touched. Beloved wife for 46 years of Sidney; loving mother of Jerry and Sheryl; devoted daughter of the late Jacob and the late Pauline Slavick; cherished cousin and lifelong friend of Zita (late Mel) Holden; dear sister-in-law of Elaine (late Calvin “Kelly”) Leibovitz; treasured aunt and friend to many. Service Monday 10:00 a.m. at The Chapel, 8851 Skokie Blvd., Skokie (at Niles Center Rd.). Interment Shalom Memorial Park.
