Martin J. Shimelfarb, CPA, age 88, beloved husband for 57 years of Leah, nee Bobeck; loving father of Janna (Keith) Berk, Sari (Robert) Karbin, and Barry Shimelfarb; adored Grandpa Marty of Joey, David and Annie Berk, Max, Emma and Zoe Karbin, Adam and Jacob Shimelfarb; devoted son of the late Joseph and Ida; cherished brother of the late Sylvia (late Chuck) Shutman. Marty will be remembered for his kindness and gentle nature. Service Monday, 2:00 p.m. at The Chapel, 195 N. Buffalo Grove Rd., Buffalo Grove (1 blk N. of Lake Cook Rd.). Interment Shalom Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Jewish Federation’s Defiant Requiem project to support Holocaust survivors in need.
